Radiation technology in cable engineering.
The basic elements of radiation technology process are considered as applicable to the problems of cable engineering. A brief description of technological line layout is given, ways of achieving the required uniformity of radiation absorbed dose in cable insulation or jacket and ecological safety problems are discussed. The output of irradiated cable products and future promising application areas of this technology are given.

10-500 kV power cables: history of development and prospects.
The history of development of domestic medium and high voltage power cable production is briefly described and new production facilities for the last five years are presented. Factors that determine the quality and reliability of new XLPE cables are shown. Mathematical models of ageing processes of oil-filled XLPE high voltage cables are suggested.

Enameled wire production development in Russia.
The stages of enameled wire production development in Russia and other CIS countries are considered. It is shown that the transition to high-strength enamel varnishes of high thermal endurance has been so far the main trend in this area. Determination methods for the temperature index of enameled wires are described. Ways of solving environmental problems in enameled wire production are suggested. Causes of the production decline during the period after 1990 are analyzed.
